Silver Lining, 2026

Silver Lining is an installation that represents the present while containing fragments of the past. The pieces coexist to form a unified installation in which they complement each other. Silver lining is a poetic expression that describes the visual effect created when sunlight hits the edge of a large, dark cloud, producing a bright, silvery line. I use this as a metaphor for my past and my trauma with water. I have grown as an adult and can now comfort my past self, who still feels lingering fragments of fear when submerged in water. I work closely with water due to the photographic process I have chosen, pushing my boundaries with both the images and myself. In this exhibition, you can choose to walk underneath the work, submerging yourself, or walk beside it. A metal frame embraces the pieces, creating a silver line.
